Soccer Time!

June 2010

What are your plans over the next month?

The Soccer World Cup frenzy is here at last! Driving around Cape Town over the weekend gave me a real sense of festivity and celebration. Cars are festooned with flags and the city looks like a bride on her wedding day. Well done South Africa. Let's hope we are going to make it the main global event for 2010.

With the extended holiday, many South African families have taken the opportunity to search for warm sun and sea in beach and island destinations. Zanzibar, Mauritius and Phuket are some of the hot favourites:

Zanzibar

The jewel of the East African coast, with its spice trade, labyrinthine old Stonetown and, of course, around 30 beaches, nearly all of which are, as you would imagine – paradise. One of the best is Nungwi, near the northern tip of the island. The coastline has a shallow slope so the sapphire water, white sand and coral builds-up forming a calm sea, which stretches for miles and is home to thousands of marine animals. The coastline is dotted with tiny fishing villages, which have barely changed in centuries. This is where you will find a dreamy timeless air.

Where To Stay

These are just two of at least 20 value-added holiday packages showcased on the website. Simply type ’Zanzibar’ in the search field and find a package that best suits your specific needs. We can also tailor-make a package based on the holiday packages offered.

Phuket & Mauritius

Why not visit some of the fabulous destinations Mauritius and Phuket have to offer?

This is the best deal on the block at the moment, 10 days in Phuket for under R7500 per person sharing:

Don't forget Bali

It may be small in size but its prominence as a destination is huge and rightfully so. It has much to offer the inveterate traveller from magnificent beaches to exotic temples and landscapes. As you stumble upon the exquisite little offerings left all over the island you will begin to experience the tapestry of colours and textures, which are a metaphor for Bali itself. These are just some of the Bali holidays on offer:

Malawi...

is a destination that is a true hidden gem. Lake Malawi occupies one fifth of the country. The lake is 575 km long and at its widest point 85 km.  This beautiful lake has been around since about 500 BC and has witnessed many interesting historical events. One of the most important features of the lake is its large numbers of fish. The government have been very careful not to let the lake become too commercialized, ensuring that those who truly wish to get away will value the unspoilt waters and the magnificent palm fringed beaches. On the southern shore of the lake is the paradise resort of Club Makokola – the perfect setting for a great holiday:

More and more travellers are taking to cruising, which begs the question why? Well quite simply because it offers all the benefits of a superb holiday without all the usual hassles and inconveniences of traveling from destination to destination by air, car or train. Although I have to say that train travel is one of my best modes or travel, it  is so relaxing just to sit back and watch the passing scene unfold from the train window. Cruising is just that but on a much bigger scale. I have selected the following cruises for the quality, value and destinations offered:

If none of these cruises whet your appetite for travel then have a look at all the other cruises that will excite and captivate your interest.

If you are staying 'put', then enjoy the party whether it be take-aways in front of the telly or enjoying the many public events that will be taking place in all the cities and towns. If you are leaving the 'madding crowd' then travel safely and don't forget your travel insurance – never travel without it!
